Barnsdall Arts Center
Mission Statement
Since 1946, Barnsdall Arts Center (BAC) has cultivated a space for adults to discover a passion for creativity through various art forms. The BAC aims to enrich the lives of everyday people with its affordable yet substantial artmaking classes. Through artmaking, the center strives to connect various cultures together and build a vibrant, inclusive arts community. BAC is a facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA).
Drawing, painting, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, photography and more are the primary disciplines offered. Workshops in various art forms provide additional richness, and the uninstructed life-drawing workshops provide independent work from the model to advanced students and professional artists. The BAC has earned its reputation for challenging instruction in a small informal class setting and the atmosphere of a community of artists.
