Welcome To Barnsdall
Barnsdall Arts Center (BAC), Barnsdall Junior Arts Center (BJAC), and BJAC Gallery have provided quality, accessible arts education to Hollywood and its surrounding communities since 1946. Three high-caliber arts institutions in one: the beloved Arts Centers of Barnsdall strive to be on the cutting edge of programming as the largest community arts center in Los Angeles.
Barnsdall Arts Center (BAC) cultivates space for adults to discover a passion for creativity through various art forms. The BAC aims to enrich the lives of everyday people with its affordable yet substantial artmaking classes. Through artmaking, the center strives to connect various cultures together and build a vibrant, inclusive arts community.
Barnsdall Junior Arts Center (BJAC) nurtures the imaginations of children and young people in their artistic development. The center’s small, dynamic classes support families, children, and young people in discovering their creative processes in mediums ranging from visual to performing arts
BJAC Gallery fosters a vibrant creative community by welcoming all to experience the arts, creativity, and culture. It was the first gallery in Los Angeles dedicated to host artworks by children and generate innovative community programming. The gallery has expanded to include artists within the surrounding community and greater Los Angeles

Public Land Acknowledgment
It is important that we prioritize respect for both the historic culture and the contemporary presence of indigenous peoples throughout California, and especially in the Los Angeles area. To that end, and particularly as a public and civic institution, we acknowledge that our facility resides on what was historically the homeland of Kizh, Tongva, and Chumash peoples who were dispossessed of their land.
